Fall Leaf Peeping Time…

Fall00132942When is the best  time to visit Arkansas? Some say that it is the summer, with our many lakes and rivers available for swimming and boating. Others say that spring is the best time to visit Arkansas, when the tulips and daffodils bloom in huge colorful fields In my opinion, autumn in Arkansas is one of the best times to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the Natural State. Arkansans and visitors both await the changing of leaves and the cooling temperatures for their fall leaf peeping journey. The Natural State is the perfect place to see Mother Nature’s canvas in all of its glory. Some say our colors rival the New England States.

So when is the best time to see the leaves change in Arkansas? Sadly, there is no way for us to know before the actual event begins, but we do have a fun cheat
for your vacation planning…weekly fall color reports from those who live in the area and watch the leaves change. The first report appeared on www.Arkansas.com on September 28. Each week new reports will be posted on Thursday afternoon after 4 p.m. and will be noted with a fall foliage icon. If you want to get out and see the beautiful routes where the reds, golds and oranges of autumn foliage line the roads, the web site will also have suggested scenic routes for viewing the foliage and attractions along the way.
